The mother of an 8-year-old boy who was taken to Syria by his jihadi father says an emotional reunion with her son left her speechless.
"It was a moment that I have no words to describe," Pranvera Zena Abaz, 30, told The Associated Press in an interview late Thursday. She said authorities gave her an hour's notice before she saw her only child again.
Details about Erion Zena's return remain murky. Kosovo officials only said it was a "delicate and dangerous" operation that involved security and intelligence agents.
The father, Arben Zena, is believed to be in Iraq.
The case received wide attention in Kosovo after the mother made a public appeal for her son's return. A growing number of Kosovo youths have joined Islamic radicals in Iraq and Syria.
