Police in southwest China say a man told them kidnappers forced him to kill a woman and then tried to blackmail him about it.
Police in Yibin city in Sichuan province said they had arrested four suspects in connection with the case.
In an online statement, police said a man named Zhang told them in the early hours of Nov. 11 that he had been kidnapped on his way home the previous evening. He said he had been forced to take part in the killing of a woman he did not know and was then blackmailed.
Police said they arrested the suspects a few hours later and the case is still under investigation.
Chinese media reports identified the victim as Zhang Yingqi, chairman of a real estate and construction company.
