An Israeli hospital spokeswoman says a young man has died of injuries he suffered during a deadly stampede that broke out at a funeral procession last weekend for a revered rabbi.
It was the second fatality in Saturday's stampede — another man was crushed to death at the time.
Vered Kvitel of Beilinson Hospital says the 18-year-old died on Wednesday. Several others injured in the incident are still hospitalized.
Over 100,000 people poured into the streets of the predominantly Ultra-Orthodox Jewish city of Bnei Brak in central Israel for the funeral of a 101-year-old Jewish scholar, Shmuel Wosner.
While such mass funerals for important rabbis take place regularly in Israel, deaths or serious injuries from the large crowds are extremely rare.
