Macedonia's opposition leader says he has changed his mind and will participate in EU-brokered talks to resolve the country's deep political crisis, despite initially saying he wouldn't.
Zoran Zaev, the head of the main opposition Social-Democrats had accused the leader of the talks in Brussels, European Union Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn, of being biased.
On Saturday, Zaev was quoted by news web portal "Kirilica" as saying he decided to travel to Brussels on June 10 after speaking to Hahn. He said Hahn had corrected an earlier statement which Zaev opposed, that described last year's general election as "positive."
Macedonia's feuding political leaders, Zaev and conservative prime minister Nikola Gruevski, have agreed to hold elections by the end of April 2016. The final details are to be hammered out in Brussels.
