Life inside Nazi-occupied Poland, 1939-1940

On the anniversary of the creation of the Warsaw Ghetto in Nazi-occupied Poland, Life.com has published a series of photos from Hugo Jaeger that depict the city and the smaller ghetto of Kutno in the earliest days of World War II. Jaeger, who was Adolf Hitler’s personal photographer, had “unprecedented access to the Third Reich’s upper echelon,” and traveled with Hitler to document his public and private moments, according to Life.com.
