CAIRO – A local security official in a western Libyan town loyal to the Islamist-allied government in the capital, Tripoli, says a military airstrike targeted a border crossing with Tunisia, killing one person and wounding five.
Hafez Moammar of Zuwara town says the Friday morning airstrike hit the border guards' office near the Ras Ajdir crossing. He says two of the wounded are in critical condition.
Libya's turmoil has left the country with two parallel governments and parliaments.
The military answers to the elected, internationally-recognized government based in the country's far east. The Islamist-allied militias have control of Tripoli and are supported by several other towns and areas in western Libya.
The fighting has been Libya's worst crisis since the 2011 ouster and killing of longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
