TRIPOLI, Libya-- Libya's leader Moammar Gadhafi has ordered the release of 10 journalists working for his son's news agency after they were arrested earlier on no clear charges.
The official JANA news agency reported Tuesday that Gadhafi had ordered an investigation over the arrest of the group -- six men and four women -- including two Egyptians.
The journalists work for the Libya Press news agency, affiliated to a firm founded by Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, one of the Libyan leader's several sons.
The younger Gadhafi was a key figure in normalizing Libya's relations with the United States.
He also has been a vocal critic of Libyan politics, actively promoting the adoption of a constitution.
No official reason had been given for the arrests or the subsequent release.
