Kosovo's opposition have displayed anti-government banners during a speech in parliament by Austrian President Heinz Fischer.
Opposition leaders had agreed to take part in a special session Thursday only to let Fischer — on a two-day visit to Pristina — speak, and not to discuss other topics.
Thursday's normal session has been canceled and postponed until Monday as the opposition has said no more parliamentary sessions should be held unless the government renounces deals with Serbia to give more powers to Serb-dominated areas in Kosovo, and with Montenegro on border demarcation.
Since mid-September the opposition has used tear gas canisters, hurled eggs and plastic water bottles and blown whistles to stop the holding of normal sessions.
Kosovo declared independence in 2008, a move not recognized by Serbia.
