Israel's prime minister is slamming the European Union for removing Hamas from its terrorist list.
Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that the EU court decision was a staggering example of European hypocrisy and that many on the continent have learned nothing from the Holocaust.
The EU court says it ordered Hamas removed from the list for procedural reasons. Netanyahu noted that the decision came the same day that Europe also called for Israel to be investigated for war crimes.
Hamas has carried out dozens of suicide bombings and other attacks against Israeli civilians. Netanyahu says it "seems that too many in Europe, on whose soil six million Jews were slaughtered, have learned nothing." He said Israel would continue to defend itself "against the forces of terror and tyranny and hypocrisy."
