An Iranian says he is innocent of an alleged terror plot in Thailand and was trying to dispose of two homemade bombs that did not belong to him when they exploded on a Bangkok street and blew off his legs.
Saeid Moradi says he found the bombs in the cabinet of a home where he was staying and does not know where they came from.
Moradi's lawyer gave a similar account earlier. But Moradi's testimony was the first in his own words since hearings began last year.
Moradi and another detained Iranian, Mohammad Kharzei, face 27 years in prison on charges of possession of unlawful explosives and causing explosions that damaged property.
Investigators believe the men were plotting to attack Israeli diplomats.
