Police say a head-on collision between a bus and a truck has killed at least 18 people and injured 13 others in western India.
Police officer Nagar Goje says the accident occurred Thursday when the two vehicles swerved to avoid a motorcyclist, who was crushed to death.
Most of victims were passengers on the bus. The accident occurred near Jalgaon, a town about 410 kilometers (255 miles) southwest of Mumbai, India's financial hub.
India's roads are among the world's deadliest, with more than 110,000 people killed annually. Most accidents are blamed on reckless driving, poor road maintenance or aging vehicles.
