France's Foreign Minister says his government supports Niger following the double suicide bombings last week which hit a military barracks and a French-operated uranium mine.
Foreign Minister of France Laurent Fabius on Tuesday met with Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou and they discussed measures to fight terrorism.
Fabius said France appreciates that Niger is "very committed to the fight against terrorism." He said France will support Niger and its economic development.
Fabius said investigations show that several groups prepared the two coordinated bombings on Thursday May 23, in which 21 people and seven jihadists were killed.
