Denmark's prime minister will travel to Wales to support her British husband who is running for a seat in Wales, where Britain's Labour party has dominated politics since the 1920s.
Her office said Wednesday Helle Thorning-Schmidt will be in the South Wales town of Neath with her husband, Stephen Kinnock on Thursday. Neath is one of the towns in the constituency of Aberavon where 45-year-old Kinnock is running for a seat. He is the son of former Labour party leader Neil Kinnock.
Thorning-Schmidt who heads a minority two-party government in Denmark, herself faces elections at home this year. The four-year term of the current Danish Parliament expires Sept. 14.
