Swimming heroine Rebecca Adlington on Tuesday said she was "so relieved" following the return of Olympic medals that were earlier stolen from her home.
The double-gold medallist from the 2008 Games in Beijing and London 2012 bronze medal winner earlier said on her Twitter page she was in "absolute pieces" after she came home to find her medals missing.
But a tweet sent half-an-hour later read: "Medals have been found. I'm so relieved."
According to the swim star, thieves had made off with her partner's car and police were investigating at the property.
"Thank you all for the concern," she wrote. "The main thing I know is were safe. Life is more precious. Xxxxx"
Adlington has also won two world championship golds, two Commonwealth titles and a European gold.
