The threat for severe storms shifts to the Lower Mississippi River Valley, Central Gulf Coast, and Southeast through tonight. Hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are likely. Stronger, long-track tornadoes may form across Mississippi and Alabama. Flash flooding is also possible.
On Friday the storm threat will be greatest from Florida to the Mid-Atlantic, from North Florida to the Carolinas and coastal Virginia.
