Outdoors officials say a woman in northern Minnesota was injured this week in an attack by a black bear.
The Department of Natural Resources says the 72-year-old woman suffered "serious but not-life threatening injuries" in the attack Monday night in McGregor in Aitkin County. The DNR says the woman was bitten and clawed by a female bear before the bear and her three yearlings left the property.
The DNR says the bear and her cubs had been seen on the property before.
The DNR says a conservation officer killed the bear after it ran toward him.
The DNR says it's the fifth documented bear attack on a person that resulted in injuries since 1987.
