A Marine who had been reported missing in action for more than three decades has been put to rest at Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
The Marine Corps held a funeral service with military honors Monday for Pfc. Richard W. Rivenburgh, who was on a rescue mission when the helicopter he was in was shot down off the coast of Cambodia in 1975.
The military says his remains were recovered in March 2008 and were identified last January. Rivenburg was 21.
His younger brother, Robert Rivenburgh, was among nearly a dozen relatives who attended the service. More than two dozen others, mostly Vietnam veterans, also attended.
Robert Rivenburgh says his brother's burial finally gives his family peace.
