DENVER – Prosecutors are pressing charges against a man accused of claiming to have a bomb in his luggage after missing his flight out of Denver.
Forty-nine-year-old Sergei Berejnoi of Sandy, Utah, was charged with endangering public transportation, a felony, on Wednesday.
His luggage was already on the plane and the aircraft was delayed for an hour while bomb-sniffing dogs searched the cargo hold. No explosives were found.
Berejnoi has been released on $15,000 bond. He's scheduled to be formally advised of the charge in Denver court Monday.
A number listed for him in Utah has been disconnected. The Denver district attorney's office did not have his attorney's name.
