A man accused of killing eight people in a 2009 shooting rampage at a North Carolina nursing home will start facing a jury on Monday.
Opening statements are set for the murder trial of 47-year-old Robert Stewart in Carthage.
Stewart faces eight counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of seven patients and a nurse.
It took nearly two weeks before 12 jurors and four alternates were selected Wednesday in a nearby county because of the widespread publicity around the case.
Stewart's defense plans to claim he had limited mental capacity at the time of the shootings.
He had gone to the home seeking his estranged wife who worked there. Authorities say he didn't find her but instead shot patients and staff members.
