Court documents say a woman arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting three fugitives told police she drove the men around as they tried to buy a used car in the hours after their escape from a California jail.
The Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/24c8NQo ) cited a search warrant in a story Thursday in which Ly Hoa Le said she was unaware of the escape when she got a call Jan. 22 from Bac Duong asking for a lift.
The document says Duong has known Le for 10 years and calls her "mom." He turned himself in Jan. 29 after spending a week as a fugitive. Hossein Nayeri and JonathanTieu were captured the following day.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that Le has not been charged with a crime. The investigation is ongoing.
