Prosecutor names 2nd suspect in teen murder plot; says W.Va. girl will stand trial as adult

A teenage girl charged with murder in the death of her former best friend last summer will be tried as an adult in West Virginia.

Prosecutors on Wednesday transferred Shelia Eddy's case from juvenile to adult court in a closed-door hearing in Monongalia County Circuit Court.

Eddy is charged along with 16-year-old Rachel Shoaf of plotting to kill former classmate Skylar Neese in the Pennsylvania woods.

Neese's father Dave says that he wishes Eddy would have pleaded guilty and spared him and his wife, Mary, the agony of a trial.

Shoaf already has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is awaiting trial.

Skylar, a University High School honors student, slipped out the window of her ground-floor bedroom last July 6 and never came home.
