The Portland Police Bureau has reassigned an officer who allegedly sent a tweet about an upcoming Black Lives Matter/Don't Shoot Portland protest.
Police leaders say they learned of the tweet on Tuesday and the officer voluntarily deleted it, but it has been retweeted.
Police did not identify the officer or disclose the contents of the tweet.
Acting Chief Donna Henderson says she reassigned the officer to an off-street position while the incident is reviewed. She says police are committed to ensuring demonstrators can exercise their free-speech rights.
