Police: Pennsylvania Man Towel-Snapped Nursing Home Patient, 93

HOUSTON, Pa. -- Police have charged a 34-year-old worker with snapping a towel in the face of a 93-year-old patient at a county-run nursing home in western Pennsylvania.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Michael Ashmore, of Wind Ridge, who is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, and neglecting to care for a dependent person by Chartiers Township police.

The Associated Press also could not locate a listed phone for Ashmore who, police say, also tried to choke and punch the patient at the Washington County Health Center on Feb. 7. WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh is reporting police charged Ashmore after the fact following an investigation.

A spokeswoman for the Washington County Health Center says she could not immediately comment on the incident, Ashmore's employment status, or the patient's current condition.
