Philadelphia police searching for serial strangler

Philadelphia police are investigating an overnight death to see if it is linked to a string of recent strangulation deaths and choking sexual assaults.

Police say DNA tests show the same person attacked two women who were found beaten, sexually assaulted and strangled since early November.

On Tuesday night, a 30-year-old woman was found dead with bruising on her neck in an abandoned house.

Authorities are not sure if the same person committed three other sexual assaults nearby since Halloween. They say some victims came forward weeks after the attack, so there is no DNA evidence to compare.

Police describe the victims as prostitutes or drug users. The attacks have taken place in abandoned homes and desolate lots in the city's Kensington neighborhood.
