A judge has postponed trial for an Ohio man accused of plotting to attack the U.S. Capitol.

A U.S. district judge in Cincinnati put off the March 2 trial date on Tuesday, when she met with attorneys in the case of 20-year-old Christopher Lee Cornell. A new date hasn't been set.

Prosecutors requested the meeting under federal law that sets out steps to balance a suspect's right to obtain evidence for his defense with restrictions on disclosure of material linked to national security interests.

Cornell, of suburban Cincinnati, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder of U.S. officials and employees and two other counts.

The judge scheduled an April 27 telephone status conference. A court entry indicated there would be about four months planned for gathering pretrial evidence.
