Ohio mom accused of trafficking 11-year-old daughter in exchange for heroin pleads not guilty

An Ohio woman charged with trafficking her 11-year-old daughter for sex in exchange for heroin has pleaded not guilty.

Court officials say the 30-year-old woman from Pleasant Plain in Warren County entered the plea Thursday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court in Cincinnati. She was indicted on 27 counts, including human trafficking, endangering children and complicity. Her bail was set at $5 million.

Defense attorney James Bogen (BOH'-gehn) said Thursday that he is gathering information and had no further comment.

The prosecutor says the woman would take her daughter to a man in exchange for drugs, leave her with him and return later.

The Associated Press generally doesn't name people who say they have been sexually assaulted and isn't naming the mother to avoid identifying her daughter.
