Officials: 4 Kids, 2 Adults Die in Ohio House Fire
WARREN, Ohio -- A neighbor says two children who were among six people killed in a northeast Ohio house fire might have been spending the night with the family after a cookout.
Fire officials say the fire early Thursday morning in Warren killed the two visiting children, and a couple and their two children who lived in the home.
Next-door neighbor Deborah Ballard says the family had a backyard cookout Wednesday night with about eight to 10 people.
She says she was awakened by the smell of smoke and then saw flames "jumping off the roof."
The names and ages of the victims were not immediately available.
A spokesman for the state fire marshal's office says no sign of smoke alarms were found in the home. The fire's cause is under investigation.
