New York Nun Killed After Being Struck by Fleeing Robbers' Car

A robbery suspect knocked down and killed an elderly nun Tuesday as he fled from cops in Harlem in New York City.

The incident took place at 9:22 am local time after the car jumped the curb and hit several people in an effort to get away from police.

"It was a bad guy trying to get away," a police official told The Post.

He also slammed into a car with three people inside. After hitting the pedestrians and car, the driver and another man fled on foot.

Sister Mary Celine Graham, 70, was heading to a physical therapy session with an aide when she was struck while crossing the street.

Sister Loretta Theresa Richards, a friend, said, "We are all very upset. We are praying for her."

Five other people were hospitalized, including an electrical worker who was in serious condition with leg and neck injuries.
