Mother in custody after stabbing 7-year-old son, police say

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Police in Buffalo say a woman has been taken into custody after stabbing her 7-year-old son inside a home.

Officials tell local media that the mother stabbed the boy before 2 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Lovering Avenue.

The boy has been taken to Women and Children's Hospital with serious injuries. Information on his condition isn't available.

Police haven't released the names of the boy or his mother.
