Two members of a Civil War re-enactment group are marrying this weekend in southern Kentucky during a living history event.
The re-enactment group based in Kentucky and Tennessee portrays the 9th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry.
The state Parks Department says the group will set up camp at the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Site at Tompkinsville. It will open at 9 a.m. CDT both days. Union Army re-enactors will drill, cook, discuss weapons and talk about the unit's history.
Two members of the group will marry in a Civil War-period ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday at the meetinghouse, with a reception afterward featuring music from the era and dancing.
Wet plate photography will be demonstrated on Saturday throughout the day, weather permitting.
