A Pennsylvania man convicted of strangling a pharmacist and his girlfriend and burying their bodies in his yard says he wishes he'd taken the witness stand in his own defense.
Jurors on Wednesday sentenced Hugo Selenski to life in prison for killing Michael Kerkowski and Tammy Fassett during a 2002 robbery. Prosecutors had been seeking a death sentence.
Selenski tells WNEP-TV (http://bit.ly/1Eaewdd ) he thinks he could have persuaded jurors to acquit him.
He says, "I'm portrayed as a vicious villain and that's wrong. I have people who love me. I'm not a monster. I'm fighting for my life and I'm going to continue fighting."
Selenski was convicted of strangling Kerkowski and Fassett with plastic ties.
At least three other sets of human remains have been found on Selenski's property.
