Authorities say a man wanted for questioning in a New York fire that killed his mother and two others is in custody in New Hampshire, and his girlfriend and infant son have been found safe.
Massachusetts State Police say 23-year-old Matthew Slocum is being held by New Hampshire authorities. A dispatcher with the New Hampshire State Police could not immediately confirm the capture, saying all officers were at the scene in Gilsum, where the suspect's car had been found abandoned.
Slocum is the son of Lisa Harrington, who died in the fire Wednesday in White Creek, 35 miles northeast of Albany. The fire also killed Harrington's husband and his son.
Police had said Slocum may have been holding his girlfriend, Loretta Colegrove, against her, will along with their infant, Raymond.
