Man in custody after setting cardboard on fire at California airport

A man is in custody after setting fire to cardboard inside a baggage claim area at a San Francisco Bay Area airport.

The fire around 3 a.m. Friday at Oakland International Airport charred a wall, but otherwise caused no damage. Airport spokesman Brian Kidd says there were no passengers in the area at that time, and airport services were not affected.

The fire was put out before fire crews showed up.

Kidd says the man, who was in his 60s, was not a passenger. It was not clear what led him to start the fire.
