Authorities say a 32-year-old man fatally shot a woman and her two children before returning to their mobile home in western Michigan and setting it ablaze.
The Allegan County sheriff's department says Corey LaValley is charged with open murder, arson and using a firearm during a felony. He's scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
The Associated Press left a message seeking information on whether he has a lawyer. LaValley was being held by the Allegan County sheriff's office. He was arrested 65 miles away in Eaton County.
The victims discovered Tuesday in Dorr Township, southwest of Grand Rapids, were identified as Debra Sheppard, daughter Emma McComber and son Corey LaValley Jr.
The sheriff's department says it believes they were shot Monday evening and the fire was set the next day.
