Attorneys have finished questioning jurors in the capital murder trial of an Alabama woman accused of making her granddaughter run until she died.
Prosecutors and defense lawyers are due back in court Friday to select 12 jurors and alternates for the trial of 59-year-old Joyce Hardin Garrard.
But the Etowah County courthouse was closed Thursday because of a winter storm and plans could change if travel becomes too dangerous.
Prosecutors say Garrard made 12-year-old Savannah Hardin run for hours as punishment for a lie. Garrard says she is innocent and the defense blames the child's death on other factors.
Questions asked during jury selection indicate medical evidence could be important during the trial. Lawyers asked jurors about a condition called hyponatremia, or abnormally low sodium levels in the body.
