Investigators haven't been able to pinpoint the cause of suspicious fire that destroyed a southwest Missouri mosque.
State and federal investigators said in a Thursday statement that for now, the cause of the Aug. 6 fire at the Islamic Society of Joplin is officially "undetermined." But they say the investigation remains open and the finding could change if new information comes forward.
The fire was the second at the mosque in a little more than month and investigators almost immediately deemed it suspicious. The first fire on July 4 was ruled as arson after a suspect was seen setting it on surveillance video. No one was hurt in either blaze and no arrest has been made.
An online fundraising effort has generated more than $400,000 to rebuild the center.
