Gunfire injures 2 police officers, triggers search for shooter in South Los Angeles

Two Los Angeles police officers have been wounded by gunfire, triggering a search for the gunman in South Los Angeles. .

Police Sgt. Cory Meisner says the officers suffered minor injuries after someone opened fire near the intersection of 65th Street and Broadway on Sunday evening.

KABC-TV reports the officers were in plain clothes at the time of the shooting and returned fire.

Police set up barriers several blocks around the intersection to search for the gunman.
