Grandson in custody in Cleveland couple's slayings

A man has been arrested as a suspect in the slayings of his grandparents at their northeast Ohio home.

Cleveland police said Tuesday that the 29-year-old man is suspected in the deaths of 75-year-old Jim King and his 72-year-old wife, Wava King. The Cuyahoga County medical examiner's office says both victims died from a blunt impact to the head that caused skull and brain injuries.

Police say their grandson was in custody awaiting charges.

The Plain Dealer reports authorities found the couple's car in the Cleveland suburb of Parma and took the grandson into custody Monday.

The newspaper says the couple's daughter lived with her parents and awoke Monday morning to find her mother dead on the couch. She called police, who found Jim King dead in the basement.
