A former Fortune 500 executive has been charged with second-degree murder in a crash that killed a Vermont couple.
Attorney General Joseph Foster announced the upgraded charges Friday against 53-year-old Robert Dellinger, of Sunapee, and Dellinger's arrest on two counts in the deaths of Jason Timmons and Amanda Murphy.
Murphy was eight-months pregnant when she and Timmons were crushed by Dellinger's pickup when it crashed into their car.
Dellinger says he was depressed and trying to kill himself Dec. 7 when he drove his pickup across an Interstate 89 median. He was arrested Friday at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. His lawyer didn't immediately return messages seeking comment.
Dellinger once served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at PPG Industries Inc. and also held top-level posts at other companies.
