Officials at Fairfield University in Connecticut are planning a forum to discuss racial issues on campus in the wake of an off-campus party that featured a "ghetto" theme.
School spokeswoman Teddy DeRosa says the school confirmed the party took place on Saturday and is investigating to determine if any students should face administrative sanctions.
Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx, the president of the private Jesuit school, sent a letter to the campus community decrying the party for perpetuating racial stereotypes. Some students at the party allegedly wore blackface.
DeRosa says the school is planning an open forum on Wednesday.
Fairfield is located in an affluent Bridgeport suburb. Statistics from the U.S. Department of Education show that 2 percent of Fairfield's 4,000 undergraduate students are black and 7 percent are Latino.
