Prosecutors say blood tests found signs of cocaine use by the driver of a church bus that overturned near Indianapolis in July, killing a 6-year-old boy and injuring 11 other people.
Hancock County prosecutors this week charged 53-year-old Charles Goodman with causing death when driving while intoxicated by a controlled substance.
Authorities say Goodman was driving a group from Gary's St. Jude Family Worship Center to a religious convention in Ohio when the crash happened July 28 on Interstate 70.
Prosecutor Brent Eaton tells the Daily Reporter (http://bit.ly/1NnlMpn ) that investigators suspected Goodman was intoxicated because a passenger said he seemed unfocused while driving.
Goodman also faces charges of reckless homicide and driving with a suspended license.
He has blamed the crash on mechanical problems.
