Dollar is mixed as the US economy adds 155,000 jobs, but unemployment rate remains flat

The dollar is mixed against other major currencies after the U.S. government said employers added fewer jobs in December than they did a month ago.

The Labor Department says employers added 155,000 jobs last month after adding 161,000 in November. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 7.8 percent.

The euro fell to $1.3047 in afternoon trading from $1.3062 late Thursday.

The dollar rose to 88.23 Japanese yen from 87.18 Japanese yen.

The British pound fell to $1.6039 from $1.6107. The dollar fell to 0.9256 Swiss franc from 0.9260 Swiss franc.
