An RV park in Denver's western suburbs was cleared Tuesday after an ice dam broke in Clear Creek.
The ice dam was caused by a cold snap over the last few days in Colorado. Parts of Clear Creek froze so quickly that there were few places for flowing water to go. The ice dam broke near Idaho Springs earlier Tuesday.
The City of Golden evacuated the Clear Creek RV park. The city said a 4-foot wall of icy water could hit the city.
Authorities have also warned residents in a condo complex by Reverse 911 calls. A stream flood advisory was issued for Golden until 8 a.m.
Over the weekend, water underneath the ice starting pouring into parts of town.
