Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson has requested an investigation after a video emerged appearing to show an officer kicking a suspect in the head during an arrest on the West Side.
Terrance Hobson tells TV station WMAQ (http://bit.ly/1tnGWhO ) he shot the video that was posted on Facebook Monday.
The video shows a suspect on the ground and an officer on top of him, trying to detain him. A second officer standing nearby appears to kick the suspect in the head.
Police said in a statement that Johnson watched the video and has asked the Independent Police Review Authority to investigate while the department gathers more information.
An IPRA spokesperson wasn't available to comment Monday evening.
Hobson says he doesn't know why the suspect was arrested.
