A man is facing charges in the crash that killed his girlfriend, a recent Yale University graduate whose final newspaper column drew national attention.
Police say 22-year-old Michael Gocksch, of Centerport, N.Y., has been summoned in Massachusetts for a hearing on charges including motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation.
Gocksch was driving when 22-year-old Marina Keegan, of Wayland, Mass., died in the May 26 rollover on their way to a birthday dinner for Keegan's father. The couple had graduated from Yale days earlier.
Keegan's last column for the student newspaper spread across the Internet after her death. The column addressed the anxiety that came with the feeling of losing the web of friendship in college.
