Police say at least one person died when a small plane crashed after colliding with another small aircraft near an Oregon state park.
Capt. Ken Summers of the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office said one body had been recovered. He said officials were looking into the possibility that two people may have been on the plane that crashed and disintegrated.
The second airplane managed to make an emergency landing in Champoeg (sham-POO-ee) State Park, about 25 miles south of Portland, and the two people inside walked away, police said.
The planes collided at about 4 p.m. over farm country along the Willamette River. There are a number of small airports in the area.
