Attorney for I-80 rock-throwing defendant says he plans to enter no-contest plea to conspiracy

Published May 03, 2016

Associated Press

An attorney for a young man charged in a rock-throwing incident on a central Pennsylvania interstate that badly injured an Ohio woman plans to plead no contest to a conspiracy count.

PennLive.com (http://bit.ly/1K7FA17 ) reports that the attorney for 18-year-old Tyler Porter says his client will plead no contest later this month to conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

Three other young men have entered guilty or no-contest pleas for the incident last year on Interstate 80 that caused severe brain injuries to Uniontown, Ohio, schoolteacher Sharon Budd. Police say the four were out to cause mayhem last July when they stopped at the overpass.

Brett Lahr is serving a prison sentence after pleading no contest to conspiracy. His brother Dylan Lahr and a fourth defendant, Keefer McGee, await sentencing in the attack after pleading guilty.
