An Alabama police officer is facing assault and other charges after being accused of hurting a woman during an off-duty dispute about a horse.
Authorities say Prichard Police Sgt. Robert Golden is charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, menacing and harassment after a confrontation that occurred near Mobile.
Mobile County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Burch tells Al.com (http://bit.ly/2bfuICx ) that a woman called deputies about a horse that wandered onto her property.
Golden is accused of showing up after a deputy left and accusing the woman of stealing the animal. Burch says a confrontation left the woman with abrasions on the face and head, and her arm is in a cast.
Court records aren't yet available to show if Golden has an attorney to speak on his behalf.
