A 10-acre estate that sits empty amid scenic Pennsylvania farmland is at the center of a $20 million insurance-fraud case.
Family matriarch Claire Risoldi is a local political fundraiser and hostess.
The state Attorney General's Office has accused Risoldi and her family in a grand jury report of living large on trumped-up insurance claims.
The report says the home known as "Clairemont" has had three suspicious fires in five years.
Defense lawyers say the fires were electrical and vow to fight the criminal charges.
The case took a dark turn this month when Risoldi's husband committed suicide.
Former sheriff's deputy Thomas French left behind a suicide note that said he couldn't handle the stress of being falsely accused.
The trial has not yet been scheduled.
