A 29-year-old woman was kidnapped and is possibly being held for ransom, police said.
Vallejo police Lt. Kenny Park said officers were notified by an unnamed man that Denise Huskins was abducted from Mare Island in Vallejo, the San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1IpTtUf) Tuesday. Police originally said she is 30.
It was not clear why the man, whom police did not name, waited to alert police.
Police did not say when Huskins may have been kidnapped or why they believe there is a ransom in the case.
Her car was taken from her Vallejo home and found at an undisclosed location, police said. The vehicle is registered to Aaron Quinn, 30, who neighbors said lives with Huskins in a two-story home, the newspaper reported.
Quinn could not immediately be reached for comment. Park did not identify Quinn, but he said the man Huskins lives with was not a person of interest in the case, but was being interviewed by investigators.
Huskins works as a physical therapist at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo. She moved to Vallejo last June from Southern California.
About 75 searchers from Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Solano counties set out Tuesday morning to look for Huskins or for evidence around Mare Island.
